UnFancy and Fantastic We hope our NYC readers can check out the UnFancy Food Show this Sunday afternoon.
Sasha Davies, formerly of Artesenal and Murray's Cheese, and our food blogging friend the Grocery Guy are hosting a "who's who of local food producers" in the back of the East River Bar on S. 6th Street, in Williamsburg on July 8th from 1-7 PM.
Grocery Guy told us this is a "once in a lifetime chance" to "rub elbows with the artisan elite of the northeast food scene."
I'd love to go to this! Unfortunately, I'll be at the Fancy Food Show.

Doh i thought i read somewhere that this was taking place on Saturday. I kinda think these small producers produce rather fancy food, all of which I love and wish I could support.
I just wish there was an artisanal US cheese representation at the fancy food show.. perhaps that will be this year's trend. *fingers crossed!*

There are plenty of small artisan cheese guys at the Fancy Food Show....Rogue Creamery from Oregon, at least 300 small guys traveling over from Spain, Italy, UK to name a few. Once you sift through the chocolate covered potatoe chips and thousands of salsas, you will see that the Fancy Food Show has everything from household named products to the small producer making real and honest food. Educated buyers from all over the world are searching for products that hold integrity, like at the Unfancy Food Show. How are you planning on making a living and difference if you don't expose your product?

@iluvfood Are you unaware that Fancy Food is extremely expensive to register for as a vendor? I'm delighted that smaller producer are starting to create venues with greater integrity, and a higher purpose than making NASFT more bling. Mad props to the Unfancy Food Show.
